The Quick Resilience Workshop to Manage the Stress of COVID is a 30 minute workshop which teaches research-based techniques to build our resilience. These quick and simple practices can be done “on the go”, anywhere, anytime to help us better manage and respond more effectively to the stresses caused by COVID as well as the challenges of our daily lives.

Laura Buckwald is an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University (GMU), teaching Foundations of Well-Being and Resilience. She founded the Human Vitality and Resilience Center (HVRC) which provides training to empower individuals to build their resilience and well-being, and to develop resilient leaders who promote well-being. HVRC offers a myriad of training in the science and practices of resilience and well-being, including the HeartMath Resilience AdvantageTM Program, Positive Neuroplasticity training, and Gallup Strengths coaching for individuals and organizations. Laura has taught resilience and well-being in U.S. Government leadership development programs, and has conducted workshops for educators and non-profit organizations.
Laura was the first to obtain a Master’s Degree in Leadership, Resilience, and Well-Being from George Mason University (GMU). She has been published in the Journal of Mason Graduate Research, and her current areas of interest include the role of democracy in well-being, how public policy can contribute to well-being, and the impact of nature on well-being.
Laura spent over 30 years with the U.S. Government as a Foreign Service Officer, living and working extensively in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, including war zone service in Iraq and she holds a B.A. in International Studies from American University in Washington, D.C. She is also a Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy Master Practitioner/Master Instructor.
