Update on the Young Transformational
Leaders Program

This year we embarked on a set of programs to reach out especially to those between 18 and 35 years old who have an interest in the mission of PTCI. In part our Mission Statement says:

With awareness of the demands and stress of a rapidly changing world, the Institute creates a community of course leaders, teachers, and students - all committed to the spirit of cooperation and love in order to reduce the prevailing world attitude of personal gain, fear, and coercive control... The community of people arising from the Institute's work will make a positive difference in our changing world, as these individuals express their personal gifts and callings with enhanced freedom, courage, and vitality.

We have found that many of the young adults we encounter feel a personal calling to these same ideals which we wrote eight years ago.

In the past nine months we have run two conferences in Virginia Beach for this age group - one program at New Year's time, and the other in early August. The first was attended by 24 people, and the second by 16. Both were deeply rich times of sharing, self-exploration, and community building.

We have experimented with two versions of a discussion board via the Internet; and we are also making PTCI staff available for one-on-one mentoring services to young adults involved in these programs.

If you know of someone who would like to get involved, please send us an email or call. The next conference is planned for December 28 to January 1, and just like the previous two, it will be tuition-free - that is, a service from PTCI.
