Is There a Curriculum for Personal Transformation?
If you have taken a look at the PTCI calendar, you have no doubt noticed that we have quite a variety of course offerings. By grouping the courses into certain clusters we have tried to create a curriculum for moving through the work that we offer. Of course, for something as complex and individual as soul-transformation work, there is never a single “straight line” curriculum that is ideal for everyone. We are happy to talk with you and offer suggestions for course sequencing.
Most of our course offerings are what we consider “Basic” courses – NOT because they are intended for those who just starting on a spiritual path, but because they deal with fundamental issues about soul transformation work – themes such as:
- Finding a vision or a spiritual ideal for one’s life
- Understanding the spiritual meaning of courage
- Transforming the patterns and wounds of the heart center
- Following one’s own soul-calling
- Understanding and making use of all three of the tradition “paths to enlightenment”
Each year between four and six times we have another level of course offering we refer to as Intermediate. To attend one of these courses, the participant must have completed at least one of the Basic courses. Intermediate course topics in 2007 will be:
- Ideals, Intuition and Guidance
- Transforming the Inner Child
Two things make an Intermediate course different than a Basic course. First, everyone takes a turn being the focus of attention for about an hour – what we call the Love Seat. (That’s optional in a Basic course.) Second, everyone is invited to be more participatory with his or her own intuition about the issues raised by other group members. In other words, we help each other more directly with our intuitive insights, and there are structures created within the flow of an Intermediate course for this to happen.
The question often arises, “If I have attended an Intermediate course already, would it ever make sense to ‘go back’ and take a Basic course that I haven’t done before?” In most every case the answer is likely to be “yes.” In fact, we have had many people take another Basic course after having already completed an Intermediate one.
Then, for those who have completed at least one Intermediate course, there is the option to take the Advance Course Series, which is on the topic of Energy Awareness Training. That’s a commitment to a series of four sessions of four-days each – spaced about every three months. We are starting our first series of Advanced courses in Virginia Beach this month. There were so many who wanted to do the training, that we have created two separate groups of eight participants each. Our plan is to start another series in March 2008.
